Admission is competitive. To be considered for our graduate degree, send in official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions to the Graduate College and make sure you meet the following requirements:
- A baccalaureate degree with preferred study in construction, engineering, architecture, or business
- An overall undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 for the bachelor’s degree or at least 3.0 for the last two years of undergraduate work
- Official scores of the verbal, analytical, and quantitative portions of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test sent to the Construction Management Program
- Credit (in semester hours) earned in the following subjects or their equivalents:
- MAT 181 Elementary Calculus I (four credits)
- PHY 155 General Physics (three credits)
- ABS/CEG 341 Building Structures I (three credits)
- Course in Construction Drawing (two credits)
- CEM 250 Construction Methods & Materials (three credits)
If you do not meet the requirements, the Construction Management Graduate Program will identify courses you need in order to enter the program on a case-by-case basis. We will notify you, in writing, of any deficiencies prior to admission to the program. Students with deficiencies exceeding two courses may need to satisfactorily complete them before admission to the graduate program.
Additional Requirements Where English Is Not the Native Language
- Earn scores of at least 550 (written) or 213 (computerized) on English as a Foreign Language.
- Submit an official report of the score to the Graduate College.
- Submit to the department two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your skills and abilities, and submit a one-page statement of objectives describing the reasons you want to earn a master’s degree and indicating the area of construction you would like to pursue.
