LUNACY Design Time

The UNLV Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering, along with fellow sponsors:

UNLV Office of the President, UNLV-CSUN, National Security Technologies, LLC, Cirque du Soleil, American Pacific Corporation, Bearing Belt Chain, and Albertson's are pleased to announce the

5th Annual FIRST FRC Las Vegas Regional Competition March 26 through 28, 2009 at the Thomas and Mack Arena.

Team registration at this point indicates we will host a full regional with 54 high school teams from across the country and two international teams.  Local Las Vegas teams include:

Arbor View High School

Basic High School

Canyon Springs High School

Cimarron-Memorial High School

Clark High School

Coronado High School

Del Sol High School

Eldorado High School

Legacy High School

Palo Verde High School

Rancho High School

SECTA High School

Valley High School

Kingman, Arizona and Boulder City, Nevada complete the 'local' teams we support.

All teams invite engineering and computer science professionals to assist them over the next six weeks and beyond.  The next six weeks are critical in that this is the 'robot build time.'

Teams design and build a robot that is approximately five feet in height and weighing about 120 pounds.

At this year's regional, the teams will compete, playing a game called LUNACY.
